From Kiwix
Kiwix is an offline reader for multimedia content. It's especially thought to make Wikipedia available offline (see features). This is done by reading the content of the project stored in a file format ZIM, a high compressed open format with additional meta-data.

- kelson: !Kiwix PPA/DEB bug fixed. If you're impacted, please update your package cache and reinstall the software (version 0.9-alpha5.1 or upper).
- kelson: Big problem, !Kiwix does not work after a PPA update: http://tinyurl.com/2wytf5u . Workaround: remove and reinstall package. Fix comes ASAP.
- kelson: !Kiwix reminder: All ZIM files I produce(d) are available to download here: http://tmp.kiwix.org/zim/0.9/
- kelson: @cristiancantoro Be patient :) I'm working on it. This will take from a few days to 2 weeks and announced, when finished, on !kiwix.
- kelson: !Kiwix, A WP 0.701 ZIM release is on rails with #wikitrust auto-selected new revisions of the ~30.000 articles big selection in English.
- kelson: We have now an !Kiwix Ubuntu PPA, Thx to @jag2kn. To use it, simply run this command line: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kiwixteam/ppa
- kelson: Introduced the metatag management in !Kiwix, on both writer/reader sides. I can now deal with language-specific behaviours...
- 2010-07-23 : Kiwix has now its own PPA (Personal Package Archive) for Ubuntu : https://launchpad.net/~kiwixteam/+archive/ppa
- 2010-04-22 : Have released Kiwix 0.9 alpha1. This version benefits of a lot of improvements comparing to the 0.8. It especially runs (again) on MS Windows. Here is the full CHANGELOG. You may downloaded here the Windows version with the WP1 EN 0.7 30.000 Wikipedia articles.
- 2010-03-28 : Kiwix compiles again under Windows... but this time the process is really simple and documented.
- 2010-02-15 : I have released the final 0.8 version. I wasn't been working on it since months and no bugs were reported in the last Release Candidate. See you soon with the first 0.9 alpha.
- 2010-01-23 : First version in the SVN of kiwix-serve, an HTTP server able to serve a ZIM file and using the Kiwix search engine - demo.
